I found a very nice write up at Tehalka, where it's one journalist experienced and reviewed out green land and compared it with India.
Today Pakistan's is observing 68th year of its official declaration to the world and the English Rule. Pakistan is good enough to sustain the bad things to be improved, we all including writer, journalists, mostly students should work with a motive to show the real, positive aspect of Pakistan at large to the whole world and to such extent that no body would dare to point something on us.
Meanwhile we here Pakistan Speaks are with a motto to show the facts about Pakistan with a freshers mind (student write-ups).
Read the the excerpt below:“The Pakistani economy may currently be in difficulties, with fast rising inflation and shortages of gas, electricity and flour; but between 2002 and 2006, it had been growing almost as strongly as that of India. For five years, until the beginning of 2007, Pakistan enjoyed a construction and consumer boom, with growth approaching 8 percent and what was briefly the fastest-rising stock market in Asia.”
“The country I saw last week on a long road trip from Lahore down through rural Sindh to Karachi was very far from a failed State. Nor was it anything even approaching “the most dangerous country in the world… almost beyond repair” as the Spectator (among many others) recently suggested. Instead, as you travel around Pakistan today you can see the effects of the recent economic boom everywhere: in new shopping malls and restaurant complexes, on hoardings for the latest laptops and ipods, in the cranes and buildings sites, in the smart roadside filling stations and the smokestacks of the factories; in the new 4×4s jamming the roads and in the endless stores selling mobile phones. In 2003, the country had fewer than three million cell-phone users; today apparently there are almost 50 million, while car ownership has been increasing at roughly 40 percent per year since 2001. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has risen from $322 million in 2002 to $3.5 billion in 2006.”
“It is true that on my trip there were pockets of great poverty and frequent shortages of electricity. At one point, I was told that I shouldn’t continue along certain roads near the Bhutto stronghold of Larkana as there were dakus ambushing people after dark. But by and large, the countryside I passed through was calm and beautiful, and not obviously less prosperous-looking than rural India. Indeed, the transport infrastructure of the country is in many ways better than India’s: Pakistan still has the best airports, motorway and road network in the region. Driving last week along the dual carriageways of Sindh, a week after bumping through rural Rajasthan, there was no comparison between the roads on either side of the border.
The cities of Pakistan, in particular, are fast changing beyond recognition. As in India, there is a burgeoning Pakistani fashion scene full of ambitious gay designers and some amazingly beautiful models. There are also remarkable things happening in the world of books: as well as a fine crop of major non-fiction writers — Ahmed Rashid, Zahid Hussain and Ayesha Siddiqa at the front of the pack — there has been an amazing renaissance in English-language fiction, with fine writers like Kamila Shamsie, Nadeem Aslam, Daniyal Mueenuddin, Moni Mohsin, Ali Sethi and especially this year’s Booker short-listee, Mohsin Hamid, all for the first time giving their Indian counterparts a run for their money.”
Google is everything now on the internet, it is like a mega giant to cater everything from the social services to the personal and blogging platform to the basic searching needs to the video related need of a geek. Geek are also well pampered by it, by its Google Code. SEO techniques are also ON now to take care by webmasters. What else left ? an operating system ! but what if google is already done it or in a way to get that too professionally. Google is working OS with Ubunto and named it gOS.
What is to ponder is the tactic by google for its users in each and every service. It is google manipulated results in its search facility. One is very bad and one is something like good for some but bad for me. Good one first to understand the second one.
Google is very strong in its policies as it shares the main lead in searching, so it dont want to benefit its rivals or competing portals from it. The one most prominent example is of Bitvertiser, it is something not close to google to adsense but it is competant to google adsense in almost many ways as it offers ads in feeds also like google. Even google feed service feed burner can also be integrated with bitvetiser. But try to search this Bitvertiser from GOogle search, not only the bitvertiser pages are deleted even the main page listing is deleted. So pathetic. Consider how many services then be deleted from their search queries, which is altogether a bad user experience. It is against SEO (Search Enging Optimisation).
Second one is also something related to manipulated results. Google by default is now recording the habits of your search to offer you future results according to your searching habbits, it is fine for many users as they really follow their routine, even google depicts this in their yearly zeitgeist. Try to look Pakistan’s searching trends.
So, How it is not good ? Consider me, I user their search engine as the resource center for studying resource for my university assignments and on the other hand as a resource for blogging the tech news at my tech blog, which is although not new or lates but a few days old. What I am trying to say is that my blogging search comes mainly from blogs and from the deep internet websites, but when I search for my assignments I need results from the professional covering websites as well as the language should also be good enough to reckon the authenticity of the material or text content.

I am not big on conspiracies, but I came across this blurb below. It does make sense, do anyone of you have any insights? I know for sure Asma Jehangir has shady background and interesting affiliations, and Aitzaz Ahsan is another story. Read on and lets think about this… Aitzaz Ahsan ,a ‘Pakistani’ politician in the garb of a lawyer has started making mockery of the system. By demanding restoration of Judiciary by an executive order, he has started showing signs of desperation. His Indian friend Ashok Chaturvedi Indian Intelligence Chief is in hot water and Aitzaz has been tasked to show some results as soon as possible so that Ashok can continue as RAW Chief.
After spending over 500 million dollars since March 2007, when lawyer movement started, Democracy could not be derailed in Pakistan. Aitzaz who enjoys aged long relations with Indian Establishment since the time he was founding V Chairman of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He has retained that relationship and as Interior Minister he had handed over list of Sikhs separatists to Indian government.
In March,2007 when Justice Iftikar Chaudhry was ousted as Chief Justice, he was tasked with an initial tranche of eighty millions which was handed to Asma Jehangir another Human Rights activists in London by RAW officer Sushil Trevidi in London in Indian High Commission.
Aitzaz Ahsan and Asma Jehangir were tasked to create anarchy in Pakistan and derail democratic process and at the same time undermine the respect and honour of Pakistan’s armed forces. . At the same time create differences between Musharraf and Bush administration. The amount which was spent for separatist movements in Baluchistan were also guaranteed for Aitzaz Ahsan.
The objectives were partially achieved. Musharrf’s move to remove his unform and imposition of emergency foiled the designs and holding of elections further strengthened Musharraf’s position. These developments unnerved Indian Intelligence and Ashok Chutervedi came under fire. Aitzaza has to make another desperate attempt otherwise his Indian connection will stop nourishing him. Lets wait and watch, who wins in this intelligence war.
PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) has ordered all the cellular companies to convert all the mobile numbers into an 8-digit format. The changes will take effect with effect from April 01, 2008. How will the number be changed? Where will the 8th digit come from? Will the number along with the code consist 12 digits?
Well, the last digit of the code will become a part of the number and the code will be of 3 digits. For example:
| OLD NUMBER | NEW NUMBER | ||
| CODE | NUMBER | CODE | NUMBER |
| 0304 | 2xxxxxx | 031 | 42xxxxxx |
| 0304 | 9xxxxxx | 031 | 49xxxxxx |
Moreover, Mobilink and Ufone user numbers won't be affected, as in new number system they enjoy same code but the last digit in old number is transfered to the 7 digits making it 8. e.g. Old ufone code 0333-2xxxxxx and in new number system 033-32xxxxxx.
However, exceptions will be there. For Further details visit THIS LINK
